Here's the process.
The origination point was a simple black and white Copic marker drawing on vellum.
Next, I began copying it over onto itself and warping it. To achieve the colors, I change the layer settings playing the permutation game until I have something I'm more interested in.
At this point, I've been copying and adding more layers of abstract complexity. Once I have some eye-candy in which I can start to perceive details, I go in on the Wacom and begin painting in the details sampling the color palette from the current work.
